About Waiter Ordering Setting

A waiter ordering setting refers to the process and system that the waiters use to take and manage customer orders in a restaurant. In Orderpin POS system, waiter order method is applicable in THREE main scenarios:

  1. Dine-in
  2. Takeaway
  3. Delivery

 

How To Set the Waiter Ordering Setting?

To set the waiter ordering setting for the store, kindly follow the procedures below:

  1. Log in the Back Office with your OrderPin POS System credentials.  
  2. On the sidebar of the Back Office, select Settings > Store Management > Business Settings > General Settings.
  3. Select the Waiter order type that applies to your restaurant.

Once it has been saved, then the waiter order type in the store will be changed. In case you would like to change the serving method in the future, you can proceed with the similar procedures. 

 

Different Scenarios For Waiter Ordering Setting

Dine-in Only

In the case where dine-in is enable, but not takeaway and delivery, it means that the waiter can only take dine-in order and the ordering page will be displayed as follows:

As shown in the diagram, there is only a single option as "Dine-in".
 

Takeaway Only

In the case where takeaway is enable, but not dine-in and delivery, it means that the waiter can only punch takeaway order and the ordering page will be displayed as follows:

 

Delivery Only

In the case where delivery is enable, but not dine-in and takeaway, it means that the waiter can only punch delivery order and the ordering page will be displayed as follows:

As shown in the diagram, there is only a single option as "Non Dine-in" and with an option of Delivery Platforms.

 

There are also other scenarios such as:

  • Dine-in and Takeaway, without Delivery
  • Dine-in and Delivery, without Takeaway
  • Takeaway and Delivery, without Dine-in

 

Significance of Different Waiter Ordering Setting

As mentioned, different setting is set to accommodate different business requirements. It also provides great convenience to the business owners of different business size. For a food business like a pop-up store or kiosk, waiter order through takeaway and delivery are much more applicable due to its limited dining space. A large franchising eatery might be keen on all three methods due to its capacity and demands from the public. With different waiter ordering setting, it can be assured that business owners are able to optimize their existing resources in the effort of maximizing their profit.
