About payment methods

The OrderPin POS System's payment methods define the usage of the POS. When merchants use payment methods, you can define which payments are available when cashing in your POS. Add all payment methods used in your business, or manage existing payment methods.

In this article:

  1. Adding payment methods
  2. Managing payment methods

The OrderPin POS System has 4 payment methods by default: Cash, Credit/Debit Card, Online, and Others.

Cash: refers to customers paying with cash, and sometimes they may need change.

Credit/Debit Card: refers to customers using their own bank cards, such as debit cards or credit cards, to pay for bills.

Online: refers to customers using electronic wallets to pay, such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, etc.

Others: refer to customers paying by methods other than cash, cards, and online, such as membership cards, coupons, stored value, etc

To create and manage payment methods, you can:

  1. Log in to the Back Office with your OrderPin POS System credentials.
  2. On the POS Homepage, select Settings > Payment & Fee > Payment Settings > Payment methods.

The payment methods will be reflected in your reports, so merchants can view reports to understand data and performance between different payment methods. The payment methods will also appear on receipts, so customers can track the payment method of the receipt.

Adding payment methods

Add all required payment methods in the OrderPin POS System to the Back Office.

Adding Stripe

As of July 2024, Stripe operates in 46 countries and regions around the world. The OrderPin POS System has integrated Stripe payment service for both online and offline. Therefore, in theory, as long as you are in a country supported by Stripe, you can bind to OrderPin POS System and use Stripe payment service.

OrderPin POS System is connected to Stripe's online and offline payment. Specifically:

  • Online payment: refers only to payment made directly after ordering online, such as paying directly on the order submission page after scanning the code to order.
  • Offline payment: refers only to payment made by customers using credit cards on card swiping machines(here merchants need to purchase designated card swiping devices on Stripe).

The steps can be as follows:

  • Online Payment only:
    1. Merchants finish registrations on Stripe (if you already registered, ignore this step).
    2. Send the merchant Stripe info to the OrderPin POS System: Merchant ID, PriKey.
    3. The OrderPin POS System finishes the configurations in the backend.
    4. Merchants log in to the Back Office with your OrderPin POS System credentials and then finish the steps above.
  • Offline Payment:
    1. Merchants finish registrations on Stripe (if you already registered, ignore this step).
    2. Buy the Stripe card machine: Enter the dashboard of a merchant account, select more → terminal readers → click shop → choose the right country → Buy BBPOS WisePad 3 or Stripe Reader M2.
    3. Create the location info under the page of Terminal readers. After the creation, copy the location ID on the right
    4. Send the merchant Stripe info to the OrderPin POS System.
      • online payment information required: Merchant ID, PriKey
      • offline payment information required: Merchant ID, Location ID.
    5. The OrderPin POS System finishes the configurations in the backend.
    6. Merchants log in to the Back Office with your OrderPin POS System credentials.
    7. Pair and connect the Stripe card machine with the OrderPin POS System via Bluetooth or USB.

Adding Razer

Razer is a leading e-payment enabler for online goods and services in emerging and developed markets. The OrderPin POS System has integrated Razer online payment service in Malaysia.

Adding GHL

GHL reach transcends across 6 countries; Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, and Australia. The OrderPin POS System has integrated GHL payment service for both online and offline.

Adding other options

If merchants are not satisfied with the default 4 payment options of OrderPin POS System, merchants can add new payment methods according to their needs and customize the names, such as Alipay. You can follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to the Back Office with your OrderPin POS System credentials.
  2. On the POS Homepage, select Settings > Payment & Fee > Payment Settings > Payment methods.
  3. Click the "+" button.
  4. Key in the new payment method name in the pop-up window "Add payment method".
  5. Click "Save".
  6. Enable the option and save.

Then when there is a new order that needs to be checked out, the newly added payment method can be presented in the POS for selection.

Managing payment methods

OrderPin POS System allows merchants to sort and switch on/off payment methods.

Sorting payment methods

This situation usually occurs when most customers choose the same payment method. OrderPin POS System can put the payment method option first in the POS display. This can save the staff's time in looking for payment method options, thereby improving the restaurant's operating efficiency and avoiding errors.

The steps are as below:

  1. Log in to the Back Office with your OrderPin POS System credentials.
  2. From the home page, select Settings > Payment & Fee > Payment Settings > Payment methods.
  3. Click and drag the payment method to the specified location.
  4. Click "Save".

In this way, when there is a new order to be settled, this operation will take effect.

Disabling payment methods

OrderPin POS System supports enabling and disabling payment method options. Usually, a payment option will not be used for a period of time, so we can disable it to avoid interference during checkout.

The steps are as below:

  1. Log in to the Back Office with your OrderPin POS System credentials.
  2. From the home page, select Settings > Payment & Fee > Payment Settings > Payment methods.
  3. Disable the payment method option.
  4. Click "Save".

On the checkout page, the edited payment way "Credit/Debit Card" have disappeared.
