What is Caller ID?

The caller ID system is built for delivery and take-away. Restaurants can leverage the caller ID feature in Cloud POS to take orders over the phone and have the customer’s name auto-populate while taking on-call orders. It helps the servers speed up the ordering process as they do not have to waste their time manually entering the customer details.

Moreover, for returning customers, the Cloud POS also allows you to show the name that is saved in the customer database for that customer regardless of what is displayed in the caller ID name. The caller ID feature works for the delivery and take-away service area.

What does Caller ID do?

Know who’s calling. Quickly view customer information. When you receive a call, you will see customer data immediately.

Stay connected. Build trust with customers, instantly identify customers, and provide personalized service, and grow loyalty, making customers and employees feel like part of the family.

Improve service. Reduce calling time and frequency. Employees quickly know who is on the other end of the phone, and order food efficiently. Start the ordering process immediately after identifying the caller, reduce nuisance calls, and avoid nuisance calls disturbing employees.

What are the hardware requirements for Caller ID?

Currently, Cloud POS supports the Caller ID function on Android desktop POS machines. Most common models of desktop POS machines can meet this requirement. Analog phones and switches are also required.

The hardware used for the Cloud POS's Caller ID function will be as below:

Analog phone

Analogue phone with LCD display, speakerphone, and plenty of settings.

Switch

Depending on the model, the switches provide reliable, high-speed connections for Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet.

Technical Specifications: OS: Android 11 or above, Memory: RAM: 2GB or above, FLASH: 16GB or above.
