What is KDS?
A Kitchen Display System (KDS) is a digital solution designed to streamline order management and improve efficiency in restaurant kitchens. It replaces traditional paper tickets with digital displays, providing real-time updates and enhancing communication between front-of-house and kitchen staff.
Only Android touch screen devices with Android 11 and above are supported for the KDS system.
How to Download and Install KDS
Follow the steps below to download and install the KDS application on your compatible Android device:
Step 1: Check Device Compatibility
Ensure your device meets the following requirements:

Android OS: Version 11 or higher.

Storage: At least 200 MB of free space.

Screen: Touchscreen capability.
Step 2: Download the KDS APK File

Open the Chrome or Browser app on your Android device.

Go to the download link

Tap Download (you may need to sign in to your Google account).

Wait for the APK file (KDS_1.0.0.apk) to finish downloading.
Step 3: Enable Installation from Unknown Sources
Since the KDS app is not hosted on the Google Play Store, you must allow installations from external sources:

Go to Settings > Security (or Apps & Notifications on some devices).

Enable Install Unknown Apps or Allow from this source for your browser (e.g., Chrome).
Step 4: Install the KDS App

Open the Files or Downloads folder on your device.

Locate the downloaded KDS_1.0.0.apk file and tap it.

Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation.
Step 5: Launch and Configure KDS

Open the KDS app from your home screen or app drawer.
How to set KDS?
While KDS focuses on digital display of orders and kitchen printers print paper tickets, their setup and configuration share many similarities due to their role in managing kitchen operations and enhancing efficiency in food preparation and service.
Steps to connect KDS System:
1. Click on "+Add KDS"
2. Add the device name
3. Choose the order types to display and choose which products to display in this KDS.
4. Copy the code to paste it into the KDS system.
5. Orders can be removed from the KDS by clicking on the menu after preparation or by clicking on the complete button below.
