Temporary QR and static QR

The OrderPin POS System supports two types of table QR, Temporary QR, and static QR.

Static QR is a long-time valid QR that is bonded with the tables. It won't be invalid unless you delete it initially. And it is most used in most restaurants. Compared with the regular static table QR, the temporary table QR is more flexible and compatible with different restaurant service scenes.

 

The difference between temporary QR and static QR

  1. Temporary has a valid time which supports to be customized.
  2. Temporary QR can be printed by a receipt printer connected to the OrderPin POS System.
  3. Temporary QR is a one-time QR code, it will expire and be deleted after a table order is checked out.

 

How to set temporary QR code validity time

  • Log in the Back Office with your OrderPin POS System credentials.
  • On the sidebar of the Back Office, select Setting > Table Management > Table QR Code.
  • Click the "settings" button, and set the validity time by hours, maximum in 24 hours in the pop-up window.

 

How to set a temporary QR code print template

  • Log in to the Back Office with your OrderPin POS System credentials.
  • On the sidebar of the Back Office, select the Setting > Hardware > Print Template from the side menu bar.
  • Choose the “temporary code” from the receipt type drop-down list.
  • Customize the temporary QR code print template on your demands, support adding text, images, and QR codes into the template.

 

Ways to print temporary QR code 

There are two routes to print temporary QR codes, Back Office and POS, suitable for different employee roles

A. Print from Backoffice

  • Log in to the Back Office with your OrderPin POS System credentials.
  • On the sidebar of the Back Office, click the Setting > Table Management > Table QR Code from the side menu bar.
  • Click the table that you want to print its temporary QR code.
  • Choose one kind of code to generate, add temporary code or add static code.
  • Click the print icon.

B. Print from POS

There are 2 ways to print QR code from POS, one is ordinary in settings, one is a shortcut way when you choose the table to order.

1. Ordinary in settings, it maybe the same as Back Office.

  • Login into Tablet POS with your OrderPin POS System credentials.
  • From the home page, select Setting > Table Management > Table QR Code.
  • Click the table that you want to print the temporary table QR.
  • Click the ”Add Temporary code“ button.
  • Click the "settings" button, and set the validity time by hours, maximum in 24 hours in the pop-up window.

2. Print when you choose the table to order.

  • Login into Tablet POS with your OrderPin POS System credentials.
  • From the home page, select "Order", click the bar "Dine in" on the right.
  • Long press the table that you want to print the temporary table QR code for 1 second.
  • Click the ”Generate and print newtemporary codes“ button in the pop-up prompt bar.

 

Gested scenario suits for applying the temporary QR

  • Prevent static QR codes from being scanned and a large number of malicious fake orders being placed.
  • The restaurant that doesn't want to stick the table QR to the dine-in tables but still needs to provide the QR ordering service.
