Abnormal Order

What is an Abnormal Order?

An abnormal order can be understood as an order that is not generated based on the correct protocol as designed within the POS system.

Examples of an Abnormal Order

It can be very chaotic for the business owners to deal with hundred or thousand of orders per day, therefore a solution where an abnormal order is easily tackled and resolved has been made available within Orderpin POS system to make sure that every order is genuine. So, what could be the common examples of an abnormal order?

  1. Orders that show strange amount of items. E.g. The amount of foods ordered do not logically match the number of pax on a dining table.
  2. Orders that are repetitively coming from the same table.
  3. Orders that are coming from an empty table. E.g. It could be a prank order.

Indeed, those examples listed might still need a further verification by the restaurant staffs to confirm the genuinity because it could be a logical order but requires an attention if the action is found to be suspicious. Therefore, Abnormal Order function can be very useful to determine the rotten apples.

How Does It Work in Cloud POS System?

In the Cloud POS system, you can easily mark an order as an 'Abnormal Order' if you find it suspicious, when the order is coming from scanning the menu QR on the dining table. The steps are as follows:

  1. Log in the Tablet POS with your POS System credentials.
  2. On the dashboard of the Tablet POS, select Order Record.
  3. Select the item you want to edit, click on the Details of the order.
  4. Proceed to the Mark as Abnormal Button at the bottom of the bill.
  5. Confirm the action, the order will be marked as Abnormal.

Once the order has successfully been marked as abnormal, you can check it in Completed orders > In store orders, it will show that this order is abnormal.

When the order is marked as abnormal, then the device used to place such order will be restricted from making any new orders because the system has already identified and blocked it. The person who placed the order will be showed cancelled on his page, and the POS will automatically cancel the order too.

However, the order can be marked as 'normal' order again if the restaurant staff has already confirmed that the orders are genuine after investigation.

To do this, ONLY a mobile POS has the capability.

  1. On the Sale page, go to History In Store Orders.
  2. Search for the Abnormal Order and click it.
  3. Click the Dine In button.
  4. Then Mark as normal order.

Once the order has been marked as normal again, then the customer's device will be unblocked and it will be able to place order once again.
