About Serving method

There are two main serving methods in Orderpin POS, supporting both Pay Before Meal and Pay After Meal. It provides flexibility to the Foods and Beverages businesses as the serving methods may vary based on the nature of the businesses. For example, a milktea shop and a Japanese cuisine restaurant may have different serving methods. Therefore, it's very important for the business to deploy the most suitable method and Orderpin POS makes it easy due to its versatility.

Pay Before Meal: The customers are required to settle the payment first before their foods are served. This scenario happens mostly in businesses such as food truck, food kiosk, milktea shop and etc, where customers will be assigned with a pick-up number after payment is made. Once the order has been prepared and ready to be picked up, the pick-up number will be used by the customers to claim their items.

Pay After Meal: The customers will only be required to settle the payment after their foods are served and completed. This scenario happens mostly in businesses such as restobars, hotel restaurants, sit-down restaurants and etc, where customers will have the choices to order through a waiter, or through a digitalized menu on a designated dining table with number. In this ordering method, it's very easy for the customers to place additional orders and the orders will be sent directly to the kitchen for preparation.

  1. Log in the Back Office with your OrderPin POS System credentials.
  2. On the sidebar of the Back Office, select Settings > Store Management > Business Settings > General Settings.
  3. You can selesct the Serving Method here.

Once it has been saved, then the serving method in the store will be changed. In case you would like to change the serving method in the future, you can proceed with the similar procedures.

Tips:

For Pay After Meal, the business owners will have the choice to confirm the order that is placed by the customers, especially the orders that are generated from the digitalized menu through QR scan. This method is to prevent any 'fake' orders that could be a prank made by the customers. If the orders are found to be suspicious, the owners can always reject and mark the order as 'abnormal'.
